I say ‘our’ because I’m doing this with Scott Spendolini, an Oracle ACE Director in the APEX community.
We wanted a podcast of interest to Oracle Database developers. We like each other. We have great stories. Bad/good things happen when we get together. So, we came up with this…
We want to post on a regular basis, as fast as we can record and Scott can produce them.
We’ll be talking about news events in the Oracle Database world of interest to developers, things that we like to talk about – like in today’s inaugural post we go over Conferences a good bit – and of course Scott will want to talk APEX and I’ll want to talk SQLDev, ORDS, etc.
We aimed for 30 minutes, but we’re getting the hang of this ‘talk good’ thing, and ended up closer to 50 minutes.
I listen to a LOT of podcasts, and they all have one thing in common – episode 1 was awkward. We’re figuring this out as we go, and I hope you enjoy the journey.
By the way, yes it’s video. But, as a true podcast, you can just sit back and listen as well.
We’re looking into getting it available on iTunes and other places you get your podcast content.
Fun Fact, this is really our 2nd Episode.
We did the first episode and forgot to capture the video. This version’s tighter, but we did end up cutting my favorite bit…where I discussed this photo from KScope18.
Last one. Probably. pic.twitter.com/LDW6KD3qKu

Et Cetera
We created a Twitter account (@whennodatafound) so you’ll know when the next ‘sode becomes available. Scott and I are both huge proponents of Twitter, and not having a Twitter account just felt wrong.

I wonder why the name.. Because it’s a favourite ORDS exception? =)
Because our list of ideas was either NULL or invalid.
Actually a great name, I wish I’d thought of it first for my blog =)
And I’m two hands up for the next chapters!
I did my homework:
Followed on twitter
Subscribed to the YouTube channel
Retweeted the video.
Great stuff guys!
Thanks, you get two gold stars!
Oh no! Jeff hates VT – that’s fine. But UVA? Horrors! I forgive him, though, because I love 3/4 of the products he manages.
Since I didn’t get to go to KScope this year, enjoyed the summary. Unfortunately, I won’t get to go to ECO or OpenWorld either. If you have seen my blog, you’ll know why. Liked your discussion about starting to present.
SQL Server…well, at least you’re still doing database stuff.
Thanks for the feedback John!
I dislike UVA mostly b/c of their marching band.
Thankfully our basketball team made things alright after our last meeting.
Oh, the marching band. I miss the old Pep Band – irreverently funny – well, maybe too irreverent – that may be why they got banned from the football field and replaced by a conventional college marching band.
They pulled the same hillbilly schtick, twice. I think it was the 2nd time that got ’em. Also, not original, even the first time.
